WHAT IS FOR YOU TO BE MUSCULAR?
i got this message today:
“you are the man I want to be LOL… Married guy here… I lift, I juice… but secretly want to be used… what is it for you to be muscular? I mean I have the same goal and want to look that way - but most guys do it to be more alpha looking… Just curious…”
and here is my reply:
“thanks for your email and thanks also for your compliment! i am sure that since you LIFT and you JUICE, that in southern cal, if you join the right gym, you will be noticed and probably be USED! you asked “what is it for you to be muscular?” well for me, i have always been turned on by muscled man - beginning with watching TARZAN on TV as a very young kid to seeing WILD WILD WEST as a teenager and always hoping that james west would be in some scene where he was stripped and tortured and then i discovered bodybuilders and let’s say, i found my goal in life! i didn’t just want to be muscular, i wanted to be FREAK OF NATURE - to go beyond muscular and that’s when i discovered SUPPLEMENTATIONS! and that for me has been the end all be all for my existence! i am sure that you feel the same - how heavily are you juicing? how committed are you to wanting “to look that way”? it takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears - yes, tears, as you push yourself beyond what you think you have ! and yes while “most guys do it to be more alpha looking”, i do it to become the sub i want to be - or to put it in another way - if i were a top, i would like to find a bottom that looked like me! hope that satisfies your curiosity! royd”

From the far corner of the gym, the corner which most dread and avoid, thrives a man intent on making a real impact on bodybuilding. He knows what is needed to reach success, but unlike most he carries it out with iron determination. So he just walks the walk and does not desire to talk at moments such as these. Why? Because he is steeling his mind and body and channelling all his energies into his upcoming set of TORTURE squats.
He is shortly to demonstrate why most fear this part of the gym. This 51 year old man is in his element. He moves slowly and purposefully with a remorseless glare in his eyes while he loads the bar with 4 plates a side, never taking his eyes off the weight. He next prepares himself under the bar, his lips are imperceptibly moving, and if we could only listen in, we would hear this matured bodybuilder talking coldly, commandingly to himself, to get on with the work in hand no matter how tough.
He reinforces why he is doing this and why it is necessary to become a champion: only 4 weeks to go he says to himself, big legs, big legs come on, focus, focus, "DO IT" and "DO IT -OR ELSE!" and then, he unracks the huge weight and takes two steps back. After a deep breath he descends keeping his body very tight, his glutes squeezed like a vice ALL the way down until his butt grazes the floor then, explodes back up, easy he says.
After another breath, it's rep two which was just as smooth. With rep three the weight starts to feel heavier. His thighs are aching. Part of his mind tells him that that's enough to give in but the other part, his champion bodybuilder's mind, the part which is full of fire and true grit tells him to do 3 more and no less or else! And with that, he grinds out 2 good reps with the weight which is now feeling like it is crushing him. His body has had enough and his mind says STOP!
BUT his soul wants it, it wants success so badly - it wants to win. It's the part that doesn't feel the gnawing pain and the waves of nausea but forces him on and makes him go for that last rep - PLUS. By this stage his mind is now in the bodybuilding dimension where only results count. It has shut down and his punished body is running on the power of his WILL and GUTS. PAIN, UNRELENTING PAIN IS ATTACKING IN WAVES. IGNORE - IGNORE! MUST GET BIG-MASSIVE-SHREDDED - MUST KILL IT!! The WILL to GROW takes over. Nothing else matters.
With a huge yell of agony he just makes that possible last rep and then he drives past the impossible and does one more "Agghhhhhhhhh, No-NO please no!" BUT it’s the one which forces new growth and which will make him a champion. As he racks the bar even though his body and legs are in immense pain and close to collapse.
Pumped. Swollen, dripping, red and raw, his mind is now happy, happy that he's done what was needed to be done and happy at the sheer sense of accomplishment that comes with it. This surely is the very essence of bodybuilding - personal accomplishment!
Others may stare longingly at that freaky beef that looks as though its solid steel and all those dense sculpted bulging peaks and valleys of deep projecting muscle BUT I AM that muscle, it’s ALL me and every part of me is burning or numb and IT’S AN AWESOME FEELING AND I’ve only just started on my road to unreal! The person I am talking about is myself!
I wanted to take you in to the mind of someone who has true passion for his sport. I wanted to share with you how I reached the stage of development that I have, but it’s only " the tip of a giant iceberg’, and the road will be long and incredibly tough, AND I’m ready for all of it. You too can accomplish amazing things if you build the right mind set, DRIVE YOURSELF OR BE DRIVEN TO THE EDGE.
With under 4 weeks until I compete in my next contest as I write this, I now feel one step closer to my goal I am not about to unleash on you some mega pumping workout routine or miracle supplement. Everyone is different in what works for them. You should and must keep an open mind as to what works best for you; this is all part of the exciting growth journey. The information is all out there, yet there are so many people who don't know the right way to train for themselves.
This does not mean you should implement all the information and research you find but to analyze it with care, and have the common sense to know what is genuine and what is not. I follow my own principles which I believe to be the soundest I know. But I am always on the look out for further knowledge which might take me to the next level.
I guarantee if I were to pick 10 pro bodybuilders and asked them what principles and routines they follow they would all have different opinions and methods of training and dieting. But the one thing they all have in common and all have in abundance is cast iron commitment, dedication, persistence WILLINGNESS and yes OBSESSION to take the pain and yet more pain to WIN - and true passion for their sport. This is what separates the men from the boys and the champions from the not so accomplished and wannabes.
If you are committed to becoming the very best bodybuilder and person you can be, it's vital to create a strong mind-set from the beginning, that way your discipline stays with you when the "tough times come along" and what’s more, remain as a vital part of you for the rest of your life.
When I started my journey in bodybuilding I created this mind-set straight away and also developed a steel-tunnel, warrior type mind-set for when I am in the gym. This does not of course mean I take out aggression on other people, but it undoubtedly means I channel all my physical and mental power into lifting those heavy punishing weights that FORCE me to grow.
When it comes to setting personal goals, many limit themselves to the minimum they feel they can achieve. GET THE HARDEST, EVIL-EST PARTNER/COACH /MUSCLE MASTER AND GO FOR THE MAX - ALWAYS."
Note: This is NOT without SUPPLEMENTATION. Just THINK what he could achieve with a ruthless MUSCLE MASTER driving him on through the blood, sweat, pump, screams and tears AND an even more aggressive program of roids and pump oils to force him under severe discipline and punishment to do MORE, MORE and almost EXPLODE THROUGH HIS SKIN. When the bodybuilder is remorcelessly treated like a MACHINE and FORCE- pushed beyond previous barriers OR severely punished for lack of 100% effort, there is ALWAYS MORE and that MORE means bulging, tortured, roasting muscle bursting-out of his skin growth. Nothing else matters!
THE POSEDOWN
We lined up to go onstage, the five superheavyweights waiting to strut their stuff. I could feel the charge in the air as the crowd waited anxiously to see us big boys. It's what most of them came for, to see some freakage, dudes who are pushing the envelope with their massive development. They were about to get their money's worth.
Ron motioned for me to go ahead of him, but I declined. "Age before beauty," I said to him. He laughed and said, "Very funny, smartass." Then he turned and strutted out onto the stage. I let the other three dudes go before me, too. I noticed that as Ron walked, his massive glutes forced his posers into his deep crack. I'd told him to use something to hold the posers in place, but he'd either forgotten, or did it on purpose. He'd come in so razor sharp that his exposed glutes were totally striated even when he wasn't flexing them. By the time he reached the far end of the stage, it looked like he was wearing a thong. Only when he turned to face forward did he reach back and pull the stretchy material over his big cheeks. By then, we were all on stage, and I could tell Ron had already gotten the crowd's attention. I could hear people going whoa, damn, jeezus, look at that guy! The three dudes between Ron and I had just gotten their first close look at Ron's back, and they were all looking a little freaked out. The massive hulking spread of Ron's shoulders was a good six inches wider on each side than any of theirs. And then there was me behind them, a good 70lbs bigger than they were. Ron and I outmuscled them so easily, it looked like they'd entered the wrong weightclass, especially standing there in between the two of us. And I was so jacked up on gear, I felt like I could wrestle all three of them down at once, no problem. Just the thought of it cocked up my muscle even more, making the suckers next to me look even more defeated. The judges called out compulsory poses for us to hit, and the crowd started to go wild. We'd only gotten as far as the side chest shot when the head judge called for #1 and #2 to step forward, and for the other men to step back. That didn't take long, I thought to myself, as Ron and I went to the front of the stage, and the three losers stepped back. Ron and I stood side by side in a relaxed pose. Relaxed, my ass. I was tensing every muscle I could, my arms jutting out to the side from the mindblowing pump I'd gotten backstage. Ron was taller than I was and about 40lbs bigger, but I was gonna take that trophy home with me. When our forearms smacked into each other, I tried to move mine in front of his, but he blocked me. Then I tried to push his out of the way. It didn't even budge. Might as well have tried to move a granite statue. I saw the slightest hint of a smirk on his face. The old man was going for it.
The head judge called for a double bi. I brought up my arms and crunched them hard as I could. I bounced my arms up and down a little, squeezing the balled up muscle even more. I could feel the burning heat of the muscle as I held the pose. But when I glanced down at the judges, they were all looking at Ron, then at each other, nodding and smiling. I heard the crowd hooting and hollering. I looked over and saw Ron, his arms locked into a double bi...and his peaks had swollen so high that he was able to feel them with his own hands, his 26" guns rising up more than halfway up his forearms. He had a huge grin on his face.
Then they called for a back lat spread. We turned our backs to the crowd, put our hands on our sides, and flared. I could feel my thick lat muscle stretching out, spreading like a cobra hood. But I could feel Ron's shadow next to me. His enormous presence. I could practically taste the alpha male smell of him as his deep pits opened up, spreading his back to the size of a stealth bomber. The huge old fucker was beast. Veins were popping out all over his back. The crowd roared as we compared back muscle. I flared mine out so hard I thought the lats might rip right out of their joints. I was starting to sweat like a pig. I looked over at Ron. The old fuck winked at me. Then he crunched down on his lats even harder. I swear I could hear his muscle spread wider, as his back swelled another couple inches on each side. The massive son of a bitch was kicking my ass.
We turned around to face the crowd, and before the judges could even call for another pose, Ron pulled in his stomach, creating a deep cavern beneath his huge chest. Then, putting his hands on his hips, he slowly forced out his abs, smirking as he flexed into his rope pose. His ab muscles were so thick and dense with fibers that it did look like a rope. But not any old rope...a real thick rope, like you'd see holding a huge ship to a dock. And he was so ripped up that his skin looked like rice paper, so thin and tight against the muscle. The crowd went nuts as he clamped down on the pose, showing off that thick column of granite that ran from his posers to his pecs. He turned from side to side, and people in the audience were actually gasping as he sucked in the sides even deeper. Even the judges were gaping at him, open-mouthed.
They went even more nuts when he pinched some skin and moved it up and down, showing the nearly 0% bodyfat he had on his abdomens. A woman in the front row fainted. Two of the judges looked like they were gonna jiz right in their pants.
That's when I did it. I don't know what made me do it, but I knew I had to. I knew Ron had the contest won. Not only was he the biggest, but also the most profoundly muscular man any of us had ever seen. I reached over and put my hand on his flexed ab column. The heat of it sent a jolt thru me. Ron looked at me, his lips curling into an evil grin. I rubbed the skin of his stomach and felt as it moved up and down against his granite abs. The muscle was like a giant cock in my hand, and I began to stroke it up and down. The billy club in Ron's posers began to swell, and he turned toward me. The entire crowd was on its feet. Dude's were jacking. I stroked Ron's ab wall harder, faster. Ron took my other hand and jammed it down his posers. I grabbed a handful of manhood. The posing oil on my hands made his skin feel like satin. I had two handfuls of muscle, one in his posers and one on his ab wall. I could feel each ridged section of his ponderous abs. They were like bricks. Hard and rippling. He crunched down on them, made them even harder.
"Pull out the beast," said Ron. I lifted his swelling dick out of his posers. It was thick and heavy, as solid as he was. It flopped right out of his trunks. He wrapped his big arms around me and pulled me against him. I stuck my face deep into his pec crevice and breathed him in. Who knew an old dude could smell so fucking good. He crushed me into a bearhug. I felt his hardon sliding on my oiled up roidgut as his pecs rolled up and down my face. He released me long enough to rip off my posers. I did the same to his, tossing them down on the stage. He squatted down and put one huge shoulder against my gut. Then he stood up, lifting all 340lbs of me into the air. I could hear the crowd going ape shit, but they seemed far away, as they watched two buck naked muscleheads leave the stage.
"How about we go back to my place and destroy one room at a time?" said Ron.
"Works for me," I said. As we passed thru the backstage area, I reached out and grabbed the winner's trophy and took it with us.

POSERS
i read this blog regularly and in the latest post, titled: MUSCLE PIC COLLECTION #11 - MUSCLE FREAKS & CO (http://muscleaddictuk.blogspot.com/2012/09/muscle-pic-collection-11-muscle-freaks.html) and this part caught my attention:
" #2. POSING TRUNKS
I fucking LOVE posing trunks!! Bright, shiny, tiny, sticky, sweaty posing trunks clinging to/getting gobbled/swallowed up by a huge pair of fuck off juicy glutes. WOOF!! Trunks so outrageously bright and shiny you need sunglasses to look directly at them…posers with straps thinner than fucking dental floss which look like they’re about to snap at any given moment to reveal the bare huge freaky hard striated ass of the muscle beast! I also fucking HATE it when guys were those velvety trunks. Whoever is responsible for creating those should be fucking SHOT. They’ve gotta be that shiny sticky wet look material and they’ve got to be shiny as shit, paper thin and look about three sizes too small. SLURP!!
Favourite posing trunk colours: Lime green (nasty and tacky), bright genie green, bright baby metallic blue, wet look black, silver, the colour of the owners national flag (outrageous), shiny as shit GOLD *bites fist*!"
AND, i wrote a response to him:
"MUSCLE ADDICT:
love your posting about posers and i have to confess that it's one of the reasons why i started working out years ago - and my mantra then and today remains the same: MASSIVELY MAXED-OUT MUSCLE IN UBER MINIMAL POSERS = ME!
like you, i find "Bright, shiny, tiny, sticky, sweaty posing trunks clinging to/getting gobbled/swallowed up by a huge pair of fuck off juicy glutes. WOOF!!" - and especially so these days, when the back of the posers are either seamed or gathered! and not only should the back of the posers appear to disappear into one's buttcrack, the front of the posers - the pouch - needs to be equally minimal - cupping one's genitals and nothing else! and the word "ENCAPSULATE" comes to mind, which most dictionaries define as "to enclose in or as if in a capsule" - which s what i feel 100 percent is what the pouch of one's posers needs to do and nothing else!
and you are so right in saying that "Trunks so outrageously bright and shiny you need sunglasses to look directly at them" - my personal belief is that the more outrageous brighter colors gives me the edge over my fellow competitors, it draws attention to me and in a contest, that's one of the psychological tools i use to set myself apart from the rest of the pack! is it an unfair edge? DAMN RIGHT it is - and i am always flabbergasted that most bodybuilders do not understand this concept, even at the PRO level!
and yes, "posers with straps thinner than fucking dental floss which look like they’re about to snap at any given moment to reveal the bare huge freaky hard striated ass of the muscle beast!" - which unfortunately in recent contest, we are not seeing as much of! there seems to be trend to go for sides that are one inch or more - which i feel is ludicrous, as it restricts the bodybuilder from properly showing off ALL of his hard work! i am with you - posers need to be two dental floss like sides connecting a very abbreviated isosceles triangle for the back (preferably seamed down the middle and gathered as well) and the pouch should look like a codpiece and nothing else!
and as to your gripe about "those velvety trunks" - you are so on mark with that and i totally concur with your statement that "Whoever is responsible for creating those should be fucking SHOT" - shot and decapitated and quartered! the fabric is so bulky, not to mention that it reminds me of curtains and ballgowns - and they have no place onstage at any bodybuilding show!
and again you've hit the nail on the head - "They’ve gotta be that shiny sticky wet look material and they’ve got to be shiny as shit, paper thin and look about three sizes too small. SLURP!!" - if only more bodybuilders read your blog, there would an epiphany in the bodybuilding world!
and now on to your fav colors "Lime green (nasty and tacky)" - which i totally concur with, the vibrancy of the color serves to both compliment and complement the deep darkness of one's tan, as well as shows off one's musculature to the fullest!
so i thought i would share with you some pics...
here's an older pair of my lime green posers:

Mike Morris Interview December 29, 2005
Mike Morris
December 29, 2005
The night before the 2005 Mr. Olympia a "Wild Card Showdown" contest was held. Some of the best bods in the IFBB that had just missed qualifying for the "O" came to slug it out and earn a chance to compete in the Superbowl of bodybuilding the following day. One man who showed up was at a marked disadvantage compared to the other competitors. Mike Morris, who's reputation for freaky mass and strength rests atop one of the best pair of legs in bodybuilding, trained for the show naturally, without using steroids, growth hormone, insulin, diuretics or anything else bodybuilders use to get ready for a show.
The New Jersey native now living in sunny Arizona placed last in the Wild Card Showdown but got to fulfill his dream of standing on the Olympia stage. At the same time, he sent a message about the importance, first and foremost, of one's health, which is what bodybuilding should be about, shouldn't it? Mike's example may serve as inspiration to countless others who seek shredded size through a syringe or a pill at any cost to their physical, emotional and financial health.
Mike, why'd you do the Wildcard Showdown naturally?
My last show before that was the Australian show. That was my first top 5 finish, but after that show I got blood work done and my kidney readings were out of range. I've had blood work done before, but these were higher than they've ever been. I made the personal decision then to stop taking steroids and, in essence, retire from competition.
I bought my house out in Phoenix and got invited to do the Wildcard Mr. Olympia. Since that's my goal, and pretty much every bodybuilder's goal-to get on the Olympia stage-I decided to do it. I was torn at first. I knew I wanted to do it but I also knew I didn't want to take any more steroids. I made the decision to do it naturally because I knew no other bodybuilder had ever competed as a pro, gone natural and then competed again [as a pro]. I got my chance to be on the Olympia stage and that's what I did.
Are you happy with how you looked at the Wildcard Showdown? Were you happy with your condition?
As far as a pro bodybuilder? Absolutely not. But as far as feeling I'd gotten into the best shape I could without taking any prescription supplements at all, I'm thoroughly satisfied with how I looked. There were eight months between the Australian show and the Olympia. I had my blood work done about two weeks before the Mr. Olympia and my testosterone levels were at about 138.
What does that mean?
Normal should be between 400 and 800 for an average male. My levels were very, very low. I was working with everything against me. I wasn't using any Clenbuterol, no Cyotmel. I wanted to publicize that I was doing it naturally so I didn't want to cheat and use any growth or anything else. That would have contradicted what I was saying I was doing. I had to change my training. I increased my cardio a lot but still couldn't duplicate the shape I had achieved in the past. It's a whole different level if you're doing the supplements you have to take to compete as a professional.
How far were you able to get naturally before you ever did anything?
I started working out when I was 13. My first competition was when I was 14. I competed naturally as a teenager. My goal was always to compete on the Olympia stage, to be a professional bodybuilder, so I knew I had to take a professional approach to it but not start too soon. I started an eight week cycle of D-Bol on my 18th birthday, but up until that point I was natural.
What kind of gains did you make between the ages of 13 and 18?
The gains were very good! My first competition I was 110 pounds. By 18 I was a middleweight. I did the Teen Nationals at 19. I was on my second cycle. I did some Anavar and some Winstrol for that show. People were always coming up to me in the gym asking me what I was taking. I'd tell them "nothing" and they'd say "Come on dude, I know you're taking something."
That's some compliment!
It was a very great compliment! But sometimes they would get mad at me, because they thought I wasn't telling them what I was taking. That would disappoint me because these were the guys at the gym that I looked up to the most and they didn't believe me. I remember thinking to myself, God, when I do do a cycle, I'm really going to blow them away then. But you know what? When I did my first cycle I was honestly disappointed.
How come?
You think you're going to gain thirty pounds and make all these big dramatic changes. But I had trained pretty hard so I made good gains naturally. When I did my first cycle I think I gained ten pounds in two months.
That's not bad.
It's not bad, but naturally I was gaining two or three pounds every couple of months anyway, so I was already used to seeing changes in my body naturally. Now I'd put on an extra five pounds, and I was like, what the hell is that? [laughs] I got some acne. I remember thinking all these things are doing is making me get some zits and a few extra reps in my sets. I wasn't all that impressed, but I knew that was the road you had to travel if you want to compete at the national and pro level and move forward.
How did your contest weight differ from the Australian show to the Olympia?
I weighed about 217 for the Wildcard. I was 238 at the Australian. Right now I'm holding 225-230 naturally, depending on how much turkey I eat (laughs). My normal offseason weight was 265-270. I've been training intensely for twenty years and built a reputation for my strength. Now my goal is to see how much I can retain without taking any juice.
Would you consider competing outside the IFBB in some of the natural federations?
Yeah I would, but most of them require at least a year natural. I'm trying to get some input from natural bodybuilders about how they'd feel if I did steroids for 15 years, came off for a year and then competed naturally. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was cheating. If there was an organization where I could compete again naturally, I would love to. I just wouldn't want to get any bad press or bad vibes.
In 15 years of being on steroids, did you ever come off?
Oh yeah, absolutely. My first cycle I took D-Bol. I worked up from 1 to 4 tablets a day and back down again for a total of eight weeks. I remember trying to stay off for more than twice the amount of time than I was on. If I was on for eight weeks, I was off for more than 16 weeks. I did a ten week cycle before the Teen Nationals, then came off for at least twice that. It's hard to remember fifteen years ago! I wanted that off cycle to be twice the amount of time I was on, but of course as my career progressed the off cycles got shorter and shorter.
I moved to Venice, California to further my pro career two years ago and by the time I had moved there my cycles were between ten and twelve weeks but my off cycles would be six weeks, sometimes four weeks. I was on mostly all the time with little four week breaks. After about eight to ten weeks on a cycle your gains start to plateau a bit. Even if you increase your dosages you really don't make many gains.
Were you pretty moderate with your dosages?
There were times when I was doing a heavy cycle. That would be five shots a week. A shot every day of the week and then two days off. A daily shot would include 250 mg. of Sustanon, 200 mg. of Enthanate and 300 mg. of Deca. So that's 3,750 mgs. a week plus orals. I'd usually take one oral at a time, like D-Bol or Anadrol. I can't speak for other bodybuilders, just for myself and what I've done. Anything over that-man, that's a lot of shit to take a shot with that everyday!
Do you think there are guys who use more than you did?
Yes! (laughs) I have no factual evidence of that, it's just my opinion. You can only go by what other pros tell you. The guys usually tell you the lesser amounts they take.
But let's just clear something up for people reading this. Although drugs play a big part in bodybuilding and other sports, it's not the case that drugs alone make a champion. I could do whatever you did and probably would never look like you did.
Yep, yep, that's definitely the case. But I'd have to say that I've taken a hefty amount of steroids in my career, and given my genetics, I don't think I could have reached what I did without them. I mean, honestly, if it's true that certain other pros are only taking a little bit of Winstrol, a little bit of this, then that's like, wow!
You're known as a hard trainer, a guy who busts ass in the gym. Now that you're training naturally, how is your training any different than it was?
: I'd like to keep it the same, but not being on anything I can't keep up the same weights. (enthusiastically) I'm still inclining the 150 pound dumbbells for one or two reps. If I go into a gym and the heaviest weights they've got are 150 pound dumbbells and I can crank them out on the incline press naturally, I'm happy! But I can't do that every workout because I can't recuperate the same way I did.
I can take a couple days off and say I want to train chest and save up for that day, save up my energy and plan for that specific day, then train hard on that one day, but then I'm going to be sore for five days or a week and I'll have to recuperate, whereas when I was "on" I could do everything and do that chest workout with 500 on the incline, the 150s on the incline, then do flyes, then the next day train something else. I can't do what I once did. I can't do all the forced reps. Maybe one all out set, but the next day I'm going to feel it. Having to change up my training does make me hold back a little bit. It's been a change.
Mike, you used to go up to 285 pounds in the offseason [at a height of 5'7"]. Now that you're natural you're never going to be able to do that again. Psychologically, are you okay with that?
I've mentally prepared myself for it. I'm putting my health as my number one concern now. Bodybuilding is a dangerous, dare devilish like sport. You're risking your health for maximum size. I've done that for several years and now I'm reversing things and focusing on my health. I'm prepared to lose as much as I have to lose so my health will be how I want it to be. That said, I feel great knowing I'm 100% natural, that all of the drugs are out of my life now and that I can do what I have been doing now. When I look in the mirror now, I feel good because I know this is everything I have achieved on my own. If it was just drugs I would have lost it. You see other pro bodybuilders who come off and they shrink, they look like shit. I feel good and I feel confident with the way I look.
Do you think you were fairly placed in your contests?
I was always disappointed with my placings, especially with the Night of Champions. As a bodybuilder, as an athlete, you always shoot for number one. Don't get me wrong: I don't think I should have won, and maybe, to be fair, I don't think I should have placed in the top five, but I think I should have been placed higher than where I was. The Night of Champions was a tough show because you always had a ton of guys, like forty guys, and you've gotta place them somewhere. Between the guy who places fifteenth and the guy who placed seventh, you're splitting hairs. Its apples and oranges.
So you feel you were being overlooked? It wasn't politics of something?
There are so many factors that play into it. Politics is one of them. People have contracts and that counts as politics. Favoritism with the judges. I think there is also an underlying politics of whose faces show up in the magazines, who gets talked about and hyped up. Sometimes there's a buzz about someone. Like Richard Jones. Rich Jones did the Night of Champions one year and he got third. I'm very good friends with Rich, but I believe he got third because of the hype he got from the USAs. He looked incredible at the USAs-
But he didn't look that way at the Night of Champions.
Everyone was talking and expecting him to do so well and the judges gave him that first glance. I think there's a lot of that that goes on in bodybuilding.
It's going to be sad not to see you on IFBB stages anymore, but I think most people who really care about the sport and the athletes will applaud what you're doing.
I'm a big fan myself and I've been in this as long as I have been because I love it. I hope people can learn from me and my example. I know a lot of guys who want to be number one and are willing to do anything to get there. But they need to understand it is a big risk to their health. People need to open their eyes and realize they are risking their lives to do it. At this point, if I can educate some bodybuilders and make them realize what they're doing, I think that's a good thing. I'd like to get involved in bodybuilding as a judge or something. I just won't be up on stage.

I can take a couple days off and say I want to train chest and save up for that day, save up my energy and plan for that specific day, then train hard on that one day, but then I'm going to be sore for five days or a week and I'll have to recuperate, whereas when I was "on" I could do everything and do that chest workout with 500 on the incline, the 150s on the incline, then do flyes, then the next day train something else. these three vids are of the same guestposing routine and they demonstrate and illustrate my personal preference for being in offseason and both my impassioned preferences for uber minimal posers and for shiny/wetlook/metallic fabrics...enjoy
this vid really shows what bodybuilding and guestposing is all about - showing off for and to the fans...check out 1:17: the two guys are embarrassed by guy's seemingly over-overt and in-your-face exhibitionism
Guy Cisternino was the guest poser at the Central Texas Show down: http://youtu.be/uBSxRMsRuws
i like this vid because the first scenes are taken backstage where the lights are more florescent and that allows you to see and appreciate both the cut of his posers as well as the shininess of the wet look/metallic fabric of his posers,
then at 0:27 you get a great sideway view of what the pouch of a good pair of posers should do..."pouch" and display your cock and balls, making them part and parcel of your entire display/presentation/routine
then at 0:41 notice how the back of his posers highlights his glutes, it's what a great pair of posers should do
then at 0:49 you get a better sense of how small the pouch is
overall guy does justice to his sexy, bulky, offseason bod and his bod does justice to his posers

"Hold in that steroid belly...tight abs but distended belly"
"Hold in that steroid belly, Alessandro. Look at the difference between the guy next to him with his flat abs and Alessandro's with his tight abs but distended belly. Nasty and disappointing. The organs get so big with GH that they push out. It's not only muscles that get big with steroids/GH but also internal organs. Shameful."

07 I was muscle and the muscle was me and I liked it

"Lat spread."
"Side chest."
I went through the sequence of mandatory poses as they were called out from the darkness. As I did, I felt an increasing sense of control over my body, my will causing the muscles to ripple, dance and contract as I shaped my body into each pose. It felt as if my muscles were growing as I posed, the blood pumping further into the fibers, stretching the limits of my dry and shrinking skin. My thoughts drifted briefly back to the audience, to the person behind the eyeglasses. Who were they? Who was out there? Would there be anyone from the magazines who would want to give me a contract? Would there by anyone from the talent agencies looking for muscle models or maybe porn producers? There would certainly be the usual mix of meatheads and other fellow bodybuilders who were there to appreciate and to support the overall sport. There would probably (hopefully?) also be one or two timid souls, venturing into this new world – this subculture of muscle – for the first time. There might be a boy who had never seen men this big in person before. Perhaps he had seem some websites and looked through some muscle magazines. Maybe he had glimpsed a big arm or two at the mall. It might be that he had felt something strange, some odd combination of awe, curiosity and longing: something that drew him inexplicably to see more. He wouldn't yet fully understand what he felt, but he would know that he needed more. He would feel a strange turn in his stomach when he saw us up close, moving like normal men yet endowed with the bodies of supermen.
"Abdominals and thigh!"
My thoughts were snapped back to the present. As I exhaled deeply and sank my abs into inch-deep relief, rocking my hips back and forth, the slippery fabric of my poser adjusted almost imperceptibly over my cock, which twitched ever so slightly in response. I fought to bring my focus back to the here and now, lest I continue down what could turn into a very dangerous and embarrassing road. I popped a frighteningly vascular Most Muscular pose, my fists crossed in front of me and my traps swelling up to my ears with skin-splitting striations.
"Thank you. Exit to your right."
The audience went wild with sheers and whistles. I gave a quick wave, turned to my right, walked to the end of the risers, down the stairs, and into the wings. As I moved, my full consciousness returned to my head, leaving its view from the audience, and time seemed to return to a normal speed. A muscular forearm appeared and drew the black curtain aside. I walked back to the pump-up and changing room and sat in a chair by my stuff to reflect. I felt alive in a way I never had before. My body was still tingling all over – as if every nerve ending were on overdrive. I thought back to being on stage, just seconds before, moving slowly and flexing my muscles. This was what it was all about. No pretense, no apologies. Just muscle. And men who had tortured themselves in pursuit of the extreme, presenting themselves for scrutiny and inspection, quite literally naked (well, practically naked anyway) for all to see: the ultimate in exhibitionism. What was this feeling in my stomach? This strange compulsion pushing me forward. This drive to be on display, to flex and to be appreciated. Was it the bodybuilding demon I had long wrestled with and chased, that had driven me to torture myself with weights and food and drugs, to bring myself to the ultimate expression of masculinity and muscle? I had worked at the behest of this inexplicable drive for years, pushing on for reasons I could never define, turning my body in a freakish, cartoon-like expression of muscle and size. And now that I was here, in the process of exhibiting myself, of displaying all the muscle that I had become, that drive turned into satisfaction and I experienced the feeling I had been driving toward all that time. I was a bodybuilder. I was muscle and the muscle was me and I liked it.
06 The judge's voice rang out "Front double biceps"

The judge's voice rang out from the darkness over the sound system. "Front double biceps."
My detached consciousness out over the audience began to feel like it was holding its breath. The part of me that was still inside my body was on full alert. I felt an unprecedented level of control and connection with every cell in every muscle fiber. All of the nerve endings in my skin were alive and on fire. The subtle movements of the air around me felt like fingers on my skin, caressing gently, feeling the hardness and density of my mass. Starting in the "relaxed" bodybuilder position, which, as I have said, is far from relaxed, I did actually relax my shoulders and arms, allowing them to fall slowly to hang at my sides. Well, as close to at my sides as was possible given the bulk of my lats and arm muscles competing for space alongside my torso. Everything felt as if it was in slow motion, though as I saw myself from outside it looked normal. I felt the sheer weight of my arms hanging there, pulling down from my shoulders. I lowered my chin until it stopped, sitting on the protrusion of my upper pecs. As my eyes gazed down over the expanse of my chest muscles, I realized that I actually couldn't see anything of the rest of my front, except the cords of my quads bulging out from the front of my thighs. Some little part of my brain found this funny and wondered if women have the same problem with their breasts. Raising my arms 90 degrees out to my sides, fists clenched and cocked forward, I paused. Biceps and triceps tensed, forearms bulging, a crazy network of veins appearing everywhere, I allowed the judges and the audience to take in the width of my shoulders and lats flaring out and up from my 30" waist. I tensed up my quads, my feet slightly off center and shifted the bulk of my torso slightly off to the left. This was my favorite pose as I thought it showed off the extremes of my proportions the best.
I continued to contract my biceps, pulling my forearms up to a 90-degree bend. Each of my 24" upper arms grew and swelled, the softball-sized rocks of my biceps coming into razor-defined view. Looking at myself from the front, the depth of the muscles was clearly visible, even from out over the audience. From the inside, I flexed as hard as I could, thinking not about bending my arms, but about tightening the muscles—contracting every fiber as much as it could. The bulk of my forearms and the rocks of my biceps collided, stopping my elbows from bending any further. I exhaled quickly and tightened all the muscles in my core, showing comic-book character definition in my abs and obliques. And then I smiled. The look on my face was one of quiet confidence. One that said I've worked hard and I am awesome to behold and I know it. I couldn't see anyone in the audience clearly, but I did see the glint of a pair of eyeglasses. I focused my gaze directly on those lenses, wondering who was behind them and what that person thought of the muscle on display for their review.

05 Why that is called the "relaxed" position will forever remain a mystery to me.

Why that is called the "relaxed" position will forever remain a mystery to me. Try standing still in that position in front of a mirror for several minutes and see how relaxed you feel. Then project what that feels like with probably about a hundred more pounds of muscle on your frame and you'll begin to guess what is really feels like. I watched myself assume the bodybuilder's position and I was very please with what I saw. I saw a man projecting confidence but not arrogance. A man who know he had put in the work and was comfortable with the results he had achieved. I saw a highly developed, 5'8" 250 lb. body carrying about 4% body fat standing there presenting itself for display and review. I saw this from above and felt it from the inside. I heard from the audience's reaction that I fit here, I belonged on this stage, among these competitors, and I felt, for the first time in my lift, the exhilaration that is knowing that your body and your muscles aren't things you work on and show off, that they are *you* and that *you* are on display and that people like what they see.
04 standing directly on the masking tape indicator

It took two steps, one left and one right, to get from the edge of the pool of light to be standing directly on the masking tape indicator. As I entered the lighted area, the volume of the applause grew dramatically, if automatically, and I was instantly aware of the heat from the lights. The connected, totally-self-aware part of my consciousness hoped my color would stay even, that I wouldn't start perspiring and that the layer of oil covering my body wasn't too shiny. The disconnected, floating-over-the-front-row part of my consciousness as my body moved into the light and turned to face forward. The applause that had grown in volume virtually stopped and there were general murmurs of appreciation and surprise as I did go on to assume the "relaxed" position. My overhead consciousness helped my inside awareness adjust my body into the right position to show maximum muscular size while I waited to begin displaying my physique. Heels close together, feet pointed outwards at about 45 degrees. Knees slightly bent to bring out some tension and definition in the quads. Hands closed in fists to show forearm details, knuckles pointing down. Elbows slightly bent and pointing outward, arms pulled away from the body, shoulders tensed. Deep breath, chest inflated, abs tight but not fully flexed. Shoulders and arms pushing slightly forward, flaring the lats. Breathing is slow and steady, somewhat shallow so the abs can stay tight, focusing on chest expansion and projection. Stand still.
03 I'd describe what it's like to walk as a bodybuilder

As I mentioned, my gait was deliberate. One foot in front of the other, though that isn't quite how I'd describe what it's like to walk as a bodybuilder. When your thighs each have the dimensions of the average man's waist, your legs tend to have to move around each other as you walk, and you have to move your feet somewhat in the pattern of an arc with each step. If you don't let this happen naturally when you walk, your thighs wind up scraping together all the way from the knee up and it tends to hurt as the muscles get pushed around one another. My arms, hanging down at my sides, swayed back and forth to match my gait. Though, again, when your proportions differ from the average man, so to will the way your body makes average movements. The lat muscles are considered to be part of the back and they are trained with the rest of the back muscles, but they are actually something of a "side" muscle as well. When developed to their full potential, they naturally push out on the upper arms, creating a leverage effect that tends to make it look like a bodybuilder is forever holding his elbows out to the sides. From the inside it doesn't feel any different than just letting your arms hang down relaxed at your sides, except that there are several inches of air between your hands and your sides themselves. Some bodybuilders inflate themselves and walk out on stage while maintaining the very artificial, contrived posture called the "relaxed" position. As an audience member myself, I had often thought those guys looked arrogant and liked what they were doing, even though it often comes across that they were trying just a bit too hard and I wondered if it was off-putting to the judges. I wanted to look that way so I just made sure I stood tall and with good posture and made my way out to the "X". And then I got there.
02 My shiny blue posing suit...

covered the bare minimum in all areas, amounting to little more than about a quarter inch's worth of elastic between the deeply low-cut pouch in the front and the smallish triangle that tended to get wedged between my glutes. My thumb-sized nipples were tight and hard, pointing straight down at the floor from the shelf of my chest. The rest of my paper-thin skin felt much the same way. I was aware of it almost as if I had put on an impossibly tight, completely transparent bodysuit. It seemed to exert uniform pressure, contracting all around me, and I was aware of my own size pressing out from within my skin. My awareness continued to split itself in two, part remaining feverishly connected to the movements and sensations of my body and part floating outward and up a little as I watched myself moving out onto the stage. Able to glimpse my shadowy profile as I moved towards the `X' the audience began to give me a welcoming round of applause. They were the applause given out of courtesy and custom to anyone about to engage in a performance of some sort, when that person is completely unknown to the audience members themselves.
01 My name was announced.

It was time.
It was natural to be nervous, though I felt oddly confident and had expected it to be much worse. Everything started to move in slow motion and I felt a strange sense of detachment coming over me.
"Go all the way to the "X" in the middle." I heard the voice next to me and an arm helpfully moved the black curtain aside so I might pass. I began to walk out onto the risers, making my way towards the small "X" formed by two pieces of masking tape which was centered in a pool of intense light. To my right was a tall black curtain with a few different colored lights shining on it from above. In my peripheral vision I noticed a bluish area and remarked to myself that it matched the color of the material around my waist. To my left was the black void of the auditorium and the thousands of people it held. They had come from all over. The fans, the enthusiasts, the devotees, the obsessed and other practitioners; they had come from far and wide to see, well, me. Not only me and not specifically me, frankly, as I had never done this before so how could they possibly know they would see me today. But they had come to see the concept of me, the idea of me and the ideal that I was attempting to represent, the perfection of male physical development: the competitive bodybuilder. I moved slowly at first. My pace that of a deliberate walk, aka bodybuilder's waddle, my sense of detachment became stronger and I began to see myself as if from the outside, though I had an acute awareness of the sensations of my body. The air in the auditorium was fairly cool, and I could feel it moving over my skin as I made my way into the light at the center of the stage. My skin felt electric and I felt the air with every nerve ending as it was pushed aside and around my form.

"Markus ruhl show very entertaining posing at Mr Olympia competition. Markus ruhl follow a high volume method of training for maximum growth. Obviously both methods work because these guys are champions in their sport. Of course there are other factors involved when we're talking about professional bodybuilders such as their hard core diet, nutrition and supplementation. Markus ruhl could also shake things up if he looks like he did when he won the Night of the Champions. He has made lots of improvements since last year's Olympia so we'll see what kind of physique he brings to the stage at the Olympia."

cum control = BIGGER BOD

i've always believed that in not cumming, you can transfer that pent up sexual energy to pushing yourself harder...here's some one else who also thinks so...

My theory on getting horny raising test level and leading to gains and strength
Now for a long time I have been preaching that being horny or sexual arouse will lead to better gains and strengths and I myself believe in that and think that has help with my growth. Some say its bro science some have tried it and said it worked .
The whole goal to up the test levels is to get sexual arouse, but not I repeat but not bust that nut. You can have all the sex you want, jerk it all you want, but do not bust that nut if you do its a fail.
I do not care how you get sexual arouse, whether you are watching porn (which I do), looking at your girl naked in front of you, or looking at your gay lover.
What ever that will get you sexual arouse will up them test levels, The longer you go during this the better, But it gets to a point where it will reach its max and that nut will makes its way on its own, I use that as a sign to let me know that my test levels high and how long It will take for that to happen.
Now I'm not telling to never Ejaculate ever again just don't make it a everyday thing 7 days of Ejaculation ur test are low as hell
FEEDBACK/RESPONSES:
-I've noticed when I've done what you are suggesting I tended to feel more aggressive and powerful and all that stuff that high test levels are supposed to do- certainly a good thing. I definitely had to actively keep myself turned on and everything though or otherwise I would seem to actually lose interest all together which is definitely not a good thing. Certainly an interesting idea and probably a lot of truth to it.
-if I cant have sex or fake sex once per day I go crazy or want to kill people. I always save it for post lift though and usually with a real girl vs hand lol. I have noticed if you hold back for too long and not have sex or not masturbate it hurts you
-What you are talking about is called "Sex Energy Transmutation". It's not broscience, it's real. Google it.
-If you have to force blue balls upon ur self for more gains, I question your genetics.
-Theories are cool and all, and many times if you BELIEVE it works then you will get a better workout. That all said, you must not have a girl right now, because if you know a thing about women, when they ask for it, you better not tell them you are trying to spike your test to grow muscle so you cant partake, they wont keep asking as they will assume there is something wrong with them. I can tell you are a single guy. This will last as long as your single status lasts I can guarantee that, once you got a hot girl asking for it, you aren't going to worry about your biceps. To me bodybuilding should enhance life (ie looked jacked to be a more confident lover) not to be held up in your room jacking yourself but holding back. Seems VERY strange and reclusive.
-As silly as it first sounds I think there's something to this. If you're not "busting a nut" then you're going to be more aggressive and you cannot refute that. If you use that aggression to lift harder that in turn will give you better (possibly much better) results in the gym. More testosterone will make you hornier, and if you don't jerk it you get very horny, maybe they go hand in hand? Going to the length of masturbating and then stopping is probably crossing the line, but abstaining from sex in general could possibly give you better to much better gains.
-I think its all just mental. Even if holding off did raise T levels a little it would only be a little. Certainly not high enough to effect muscle growth. Just take an OTC "test booster" if your that set on it, probably be about the same. also "busting a nut" even if it did lower T levels would be so short term it would not effect anything. Bottom line if your so worried about 1 or 2 pounds of muscle you should be on AAS! and if you were then the whole abstaining thing wouldn't matter anyway.
-Interestingly enough, I found a couple of studies that somewhat support this 'theory'.
"These data demonstrate that acute abstinence does not change the neuroendocrine response to orgasm but does produce elevated levels of testosterone in males."
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11760788
"On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline.."
